Mandatory evacuations have been lifted for the Quail Fire burning in Solano County, south of Winters.
Cal Fire says the fire, which started Saturday evening near Quail Canyon and Pleasants Valley roads, was 40 percent contained and 1,837 acres as of 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Three structures have been destroyed, according to Cal Fire. Evacuations were previously in place from Quail Canyon Road from Pleasants Valley Road to Highway 128.
An evacuation center is set up at the Three Oaks Community Center at 1100 Alamo Drive in Vacaville. Pleasants Valley Road is closed.
Smoke from the fire has spread through Yolo and Sacramento counties.
Correction: A previous headline misidentified the location of the fire. It is in Solano County.
