Statute of limitations for rape in California will likely prevent prosecutors from adding additional charges against the suspect in California’s “Golden State Killer” case. He’s been charged with 12 murders, but prosecutors have not charged him with the nearly 50 rapes they say he also committed.
In fact, many states put a time limit on prosecuting sexual assaults. Across the country, there are calls to review and possibly get rid of those statutes. Bob Moffitt () of Capital Public Radio reports.
