A woman holding a gun outside Clyde W. Needham Elementary School Monday morning was taken into custody by Lodi Police after a three-hour standoff. The incident prompted classes to be canceled for the rest of the day.
The armed woman was reported to have been sitting in a trailer that's attached to a Jeep parked in front of the school for the past few days, and making threats against her own life.
Streets surrounding campus were blocked from traffic at 6:30 a.m. Neighbors, parents and students were also told to stay away from the area until further notice.
The woman stepped out of the trailer and surrendered to the officers on site at approximately 9:20 a.m.
