The State of California is asking for grant proposals for flood-prevention projects outside of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
David Wright with the Department of Water Resources says $18 million remains for a limited range of projects.
"The Local Levee Assistance Program is funded under Prop 84 which was passed in 2006," says Wright. "A total of $83 million was allocated to the program to fund flood-risk reduction projects outside of the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta."
The State is accepting grant proposals through March 17, 2015.
Wright says Prop 84 bond sales have provided grants for the evaluation of 32 projects and the construction of 16 more.
The Oakland Airport levee system and San Diego sea wall projects both used grant money from Prop 84.
Prop 84 provided $800 million for levee and flood-control projects.
