As trucks continue to haul away tons of dirt from the arena site in downtown Sacramento, we now have a better idea of the timeline for important construction events.
Last week, crews began demolition of the old Macy's parking garage and micro-pile drilling to prepare the ground for the practice facility foundation.
When winter arrives, the construction schedule calls for the concrete slabs to be poured. Work will also begin on the arena's steel frame.
During the 2015 summer months, the frame of the building will reach its highest point.
Then the interior walls will be erected and the exterior skin, aircraft hangar doors, and roof will be installed.
In the fall of next year, work on the plaza will begin.
The whole thing should be ready to open Fall of 2016.
