The rain is dampening the Giants' World Series championship parade in San Francisco and may force trick-or-treaters throughout the Sacramento region to cover up with rain jackets Friday evening.
Rain was already falling in San Francisco Friday morning as city officials closed off streets in preparation for a noon parade to celebrate the Giants' World Series win. Up to 2 million people are expected to turn out for the parade, and most are prepared with rain gear.
A cold front will impact interior Northern California today and tonight bringing rain and mountain snow with isolated thunderstorms.
Much cooler temperatures are also expected. Showers are expected behind the front on Saturday then end Sunday. Drier and milder weather is expected next week.
