More Changes To Come For Congested Watt/US 50 Intersection

  •  Bob Moffitt
Thursday, December 19, 2013 | Sacramento, CA

The recent installation of off-ramps and new traffic signals caused an increase in congestion throughout the interchange last Monday.

The Department of Transportation says it opened additional lanes on Watt Avenue last week and has continued to make traffic signal adjustments during the last ten days.

In early January, the county will open another northbound lane on Watt and a third right turn lane on the westbound off-ramp.

The county hopes the additional capacity will improve the flow of traffic

The Department of Transportation says 90,000 cars use the intersection every day.
