Friday, December 13, 2013 | Sacramento, CA

The Sacramento City Clerk’s Office has completed the prima facie review of 35,000 petitions submitted by the group Sacramento Taxpayers Opposed to Pork and has sent the petitions to the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters for review.

The group downtownarena.org submitted 15,000 signature withdrawals which the Registrar also has to review.

STOP's initiative, "The Voter Approval for Public Funding of the Professional Sports Arena Act" will go on the June 2014 ballot if 22,026 more petitions than signature withdrawals are counted by the County Registrar.

The City Clerk says a full count of all the petitions which will cost approximately $90,000 - $100,000.

The County has 30 business days from Tuesday, December 10th to complete the count.
