Power Knocked Out at UC Davis Med Center

  •  Bob Moffitt
Thursday, December 12, 2013 | Sacramento, CA

The Sacramento Municipal Utility District says a fire in a high-voltage line disrupted service to the hospital at about 7:45 this morning.  The hospital reported the power returning just before noon.

The outage affected only the hospital campus which swtiched over to generator power within "a couple of minutes" according to the hospital's Patient Care Director, Toby Marsh

About two-dozen surgeries were rescheduled for later today or for a later date.

Other effects of the outage: the parking arms at the garage were locked in the up position and some elevators were not functioning after slowly descending to the ground floor.
