Keep Your Shoes On With New Airport Security Line

Some people flying out of Sacramento International Airport can now pass through security without taking off shoes, clothes or personal items from their luggage.

Anyone already with a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol or Canadian Border Patrol pass is automatically included in the Transportation Security Administration Pre-Check program.  And now frequent fliers with nine airlines may also be included.

Nico Melendez with the TSA says Sacramento is now one of 102 airports with  Pre-Check lines.

"Passengers who are identified as Pre-Check won't have to remove their shoes, won't have to take their lap top out of their bag, take their coat off, or take their 3-1-1-compliant liquids out of their carry-on bags."

Passengers under 12, over 75, or members of the military will also be cleared to go through the Pre-Check line.

For now, anyone else who wants to apply for just the Pre-Check pass will have to go to Indianapolis. That's the site of the country's only enrollment center, but the TSA plans 300 more stations at airports across the country next year.
