Covered California: Roll Out Has 'Not Been Perfect, But...Pretty Darn Good'

  •  Pauline Bartolone
Thursday, October 24, 2013 | Sacramento, CA

Executive Director Peter Lee evaluated the progress of the marketplace at a Covered California board of directors meeting on Thursday.

“It’s not been perfect, but it’s been pretty darn good,” says Lee.

He told board members that recent problems that are in various stages of being fixed.

He said the online doctor directory is now available, and they’re improving the Spanish language website and a search function for finding enrollment help.

“We have a new and a big system that we will constantly improve. In the last three weeks, the system has been up 90 percent of the time. It’s been down for scheduled maintenance,” says Lee.

Online enrollment for the small business exchange will not be available until middle of November.

The federally-run health insurance exchange has been plagued by technical problems with online enrollment.
