The fire was burning along the American River Parkway not far from a water treatment plant.
Sacramento Fire Captain Niko King says the department called for a bulldozer and helicopter from Sac Metro Fire to assist.
"Fortunately there's not a lot of wind right now, so that's to our advantage. We also have a some natural barriers, parking lots, and roads that are going to keep this partially contained. So, we're not expecting this to get much larger," said King.
According to King the fire burned approximately 6 acres.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
