Update: 1:50 pm, 8/1 - Vehicle located, no arrests

Sacramento police said the suspect vehicle believed to be related to the Arden Mall shooting has been located. No one involved in the Wednesday incident has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

From the Sacramento police report:

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in a parking lot. It is believed that two suspects were involved in an altercation with two other individuals just prior to the shooting. While in the area of a parking garage, one of the suspects produced a handgun and began firing. The two victims fled from the gunfire and were eventually contacted by responding officers and determined to be uninjured. The two suspects also ran off and fled through a department store as they made their way to a parked vehicle. The two suspects drove off in the vehicle. An immediate investigation ensued and officers located the suspect vehicle believed to be related to the shooting. At this time, no one involved in the incident has been taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

4:30 pm, 7/31 - Gunfire at Arden Fair Mall

The Sacramento Police Department responded to a call of shots fired this afternoon. Police say an argument inside the mall spilled outside into the parking lot near the northeast corner of the parking garage.  Several shots were fired.

Officers say surveillance video shows two young men in an altercation with two other men near the parking garage and then shows one man shooting at the other group.

The department is looking for two Hispanic men wearing white t-shirts and driving a white sedan.  Several cars in the parking lot were hit, but there have been no reports of any people suffering injuries.

The targets of the shooting are cooperating with police.
