Six insurers will be part of the small group insurance market called SHOP – Small Business Health Options Program.
Covered California says the rates for businesses participating in SHOP next year will be similar to what the small group market offers this year.
The state-administered marketplace says SHOP will offer California’s half-million small businesses an array of health coverage choices and a way to streamline invoicing.
Federal tax credits will be available for some of the small businesses.
The enrollment period for SHOP begins October 1. Health coverage starts January 1.
