Starting today, curbside recycling containers will no longer be collected every week by the City of Sacramento.
Erin Treadwell with the Recycling and Solid Waste Division says it is one of three changes the City has made.
“All yard waste generated by city residents will now need to be put in the yard waste containers. We will still be offering loose in the street service during leaf season which is our highest tonnage for green waste and that’s going to be November, December, and January.”
The City will use the large piece of machinery known as “The Claw” as it brings back its neighborhood cleanup program from February to October.
People can make one free appointment each year for “The Claw” to pick up large piles of debris or unwieldy objects.
