Lynda Gledhill is with the California Attorney General’s office.  She says investigators followed two Mexican nationals and two suspected Surenos gang members from Tulare County to an area near Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge off of South River Road:

“That is not uncommon to find it on either state or local preserve land because some of the times the areas aren’t very accessible and it’s easier for these illegal grows to take place without being discovered.”

Agents seized two shotguns and a handgun in the raid. The four face charges of possessing and cultivating illegal marijuana for sale and for being armed in the commission of a felony.  They are each being held on $500,000 bail in the Sacramento County Jail.
