State Sen. Ron Calderon (D-Montebello) addresses reporters off the Senate floor Monday, six days after his Capitol offices were searched by FBI agents.

Calderon would not answer any questions about what the FBI was looking for or whether he’s facing any charges. But after missing several days he says he’s ready to get back to work.

“My intention at this point is to do my job, that I was elected to do. Attend my hearings. Get my bills passed out of committee and to the floor. And do the work of the state,” Calderon told reporters just off the Senate floor.

Calderon says any questions about his case can be directed to his lawyer. He’s retained high-profile defense attorney Mark Geragos. Geragos has represented several notable clients, including musician Michael Jackson and actress Winona Ryder.
