Spoon, Justin Hayward, and Steely Dan are all performing live in our area soon and they all show up on this week’s K-ZAP on Cap Radio along with new tracks by the Afghan Whigs, Amythyst Khia and The Black Keys.
We’re excited to partner with the new K-ZAP to bring you the best rock music from the past and right now. Each week you’ll hear favorite artists making fresh music and fresh artists making new favorites, from Led Zeppelin to Foo Fighters to Beck. It’s all in the free form tradition of Sacramento’s legendary rock radio station.
The original K-ZAP went on the air in 1968 and was a staple on Sacramento’s airwaves for almost 25 years before going off the air. It was resurrected as a non-profit radio and online station in 2015 with many of the original DJs, including K-ZAP on CapRadio host Dennis Newhall.

Pearl Jam is coming so this week more from Eddie Vedder’s solo album on K-ZAP on Cap Radio. Also, Steve Hackett and Cold Play in anticipation of their area appearances. And, new music from Jack White and The Smile, the latest project from Radiohead
The Black Crowes and the Black Keys have both released new music this week for K-ZAP on Cap Radio. And, we’ll air more from the fine albums by Bonnie Raitt and Eddie Vedder. Plus, music from artist coming our way and a small tribute to Mom.
This week, Dennis features a live performance of a new Bonnie Raitt song, more from the Beth Hart tribute to Led Zeppelin and the Edgar Winter tribute to his brother Johnny, plus a preview of a double bill coming to town this next week.
This week hear the first Pink Floyd recording in 28 years. It’s a fundraiser for Ukraine. Also, a new song from Bonnie Raitt and songs for the upcoming special days.
This week on K-ZAP on Cap Radio: two anti-war songs have been updated by their authors Graham Nash and Sting. Plus a new TV show theme from Mick Jagger and the latest from Soccer Mommy

Dennis carries in a bunch of tunes from rock acts scheduled to appear in Sacramento, some new releases from Def Leppard and Tesla, and some musical commentary on todays’ World events.
