The Golden 1 Center is officially home to an 18-foot-tall multi-colored, mirror-polished, stainless steel piglet.
Jeff Koons' sculpture, "Coloring Book # (Number) 4" was unveiled Monday before 200 invitees at the new downtown arena.
Koons says he hopes that people who were against the piece will change their minds when they see it.
"I enjoy very much having a dialogue with Sacramento, with the art world here, with the fans, with everybody," Koons says. "And just as I look forward [having] a dialogue with their work."
Some came to see the new piece. Others, like Nancy Fellmath, also came to see the work of local artists.
"I've seen Gale Hart's work and it's fabulous. I've been a collector of hers for years. I'm so excited to see it and share it with the world," Fellmath says.
Some of the locally produced art is being installed on the same day.
The arena will host its first event next Tuesday.
