Sacramento's "Grape Escape" event will be held again this June -after a year hiatus.
The event showcases local wineries and chefs. It was canceled last year because of warnings issued by the Department of Alcohol Beverage Control related to advertising and sponsorship of the event.
Mike Testa is with the Sacramento Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
"We had some issues in 2014 with some ABC issues and some tied-law rules that dated back to 1935," says Testa. "Fortunately, Assembly member Cooper changed that law and it impacts not only events like the Grape Escape in Sacramento, but non-profit events throughout the State of California."
Sacramento's "Grape Escape" will be part of a three-day event called the "Taste of Sacramento" this year. A winemakers event will be held June 3. The Grape Escape will be held on June 4. And a "Farm-to-Fork" brunch will be held June 5 on 13th Street.
