Tuesday night's Sacramento City Council meeting ended with shouts of protest.
Councilman and Vice Mayor Rick Jennings adjourned the meeting after four people addressed the council about homelessness in the city and the city's anti-camping ordinance.
People in the audience continually disrupted those speeches and council comments.
Jennings warned the crowd twice that he would end the meeting if the disruptions continued. After he was interrupted three more times by protesters, he adjourned the meeting. Twenty one people were still on the list of people who had signed up to speak.
The council had already heard presentations on the city's recent efforts to end homelessness. They include a new city webpage with information on homeless services and a newly-formed city council committee that will hold its first public meeting in February.
Jennings was running the meeting on behalf of Mayor Kevin Johnson, who had left early.
