In this emotional conversation, Darina Hul Kellom talks to her husband Tocher Kellom about growing up with her refugee parents, who fled Cambodia during the time of the Khmer Rouge.

After being forced into labor camps and separated from their children (the two eldest siblings of the not-yet-born Darina who didn't survive in the camp), Darina's parents sought refuge and were granted asylum in the United States.

Darina, who today consoles veterans in her job as a social worker, found herself doing the same thing for her parents when she was a young girl. She recalls at times having to wake them up from nightmares about the war.

Now Darina and Tocher are raising their own family.  Darina says she hopes that by the time their one-year-old son is old enough to hear the stories about his grandparents, he'll be proud at how far his family has come.
