Northern Californians are getting some much-needed rain Thursday morning.
Tom Dang is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He warns the wet roads will be slick, due to oils that have built up over the past couple of months.
Dang says the Sacramento region will likely see several hundredths of an inch over the next few hours.
"Not a huge amount, unfortunately," says Dang. "It's not really going to do much to end the drought. But any precipitation will help us in terms of alleviating some dry conditions, helping to fight the King Fire, that kind of thing."
Meteorologist says the King Fire area east of Sacramento will likely get a few tenths of an inch of rain - and though that may not be enough to put the fire out, he says the elevated moisture in the air should help firefighters gain ground.
