In December, the California Secretary of State’s office sent out emails and postcards notifying voters who registered as “no party preference” that they can vote in the Democratic, American Independent and Libertarian Party presidential primary elections on March 3, 2020, which is Super Tuesday.

But, for those who plan to vote Republican, Green or Peace & Freedom, they'll have to re-register by the deadline on Feb. 18 to vote in the primary.

We unpack what voters need to know before California's primary, which is being held significantly earlier than in years past, when it was held in June.

Guests

  • California Secretary of State Alex Padilla
