Remembering Sacramento Historian and Philanthropist Mead Kibbey

Mead Kibbey died last month at age 96.  He was Sacramento’s colorful and philanthropic historian, and part of the “Greatest Generation.” Mead Kibbey served as a Navy Lieutenant in World War II.  

Beth Ruyak interviewed him in 2013 when he was honored as a Knight in the French Legion of Honor for his wartime service on a minesweeper boat. His crew prepared the English Channel before the D Day invasion.
