Updated Aug. 2, 10:10 a.m.

Fire crews have stopped the forward progress of three fires that broke out Wednesday afternoon in the foothills east of Sacramento.

The Omega Fire burning in Pilot Hill in El Dorado County posed the biggest threat, Cal Fire Captain Scott McLean said, but it's now 80 percent contained at 66 acres.

Evacuations are still in place on Point View Drive north of Black Dog Court, including all cross streets, and on Alpha Circle and Omega Lane. There's an evacuation center at Northside Elementary School, 860 Cave Valley Road, Cool, CA.

The fire destroyed one home and damaged two, according to the county sheriff.

Elsewhere in El Dorado County, the 67-acre Bumper Fire burning south of Placerville and Cameron Park near Highway 49 is also 80 percent contained. All evacuations have been lifted.

And in Placer County, the Sunset Fire near Roseville burned 700 acres and is 100 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.
