Sacramento Unemployment Rate At Nine Year Low

The jobless rate in the Sacramento region was 4.7 percent in May, according to officials. The last time it was close to that would've been in May of 2007 when it was 4.8 percent. The jobless rate in California also ticked down to 5.2 percent.

August unemployment figures released today show the Sacramento region had a 5.9 percent jobless rate. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says that was a drop of 1.5 percent from a year ago, and a two-year low.
