California workers will receive more money from the state when they take time off to care for relatives, children or themselves under a new law. Gov. Jerry Brown signed a measure Monday that will increase the paid family leave rates.
A law that extends California’s paid family leave benefit to people caring for grandchildren, grandparents, siblings and in-laws will go into effect July 1. The original law took effect on the same day 10 years ago.
