Great Sunflower Project As you've probably heard, bees and other pollinators are in trouble and that's an issue for all of us because pollinators make a lot of our food possible. The Great Sunflower Project is a national initiative that uses "citizen scientists" to watch bees to see that they're doing and how they're doing.
Janiva Magness The new record by blues and R&B singer Janiva Magness took off with a bullet. Her album "The Devil Is an Angel, Too" debuted at No. 3 in the Billboard blues chart and number one on the iTunes blues chart. It was release in April. Around the same time, Magness was also honored by an organization that means a lot to her. Foster Care Alumni of America named her their Ambassador. Magness spent part of her youth as a foster child. We'll talk to Magness about this and hear some clips from her album.
Janiva Magness performs at 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 11th at The Palms Playhouse, 13 Main St., Winters. Information: (530) 795-1825.
