Delta Projects The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta faces many problems, including threatened fish and fragile levees. Organizations with a vested interest in the Delta - including the state and federal governments, water districts, environmental groups, farmers and so on - have been trying for years to come up with a plan to fix these complicated and sometimes conflicting problems. Today on Insight, we're going to take a look at two possible parts of a plan, although both are controversial. First, we discuss a proposal to build gates in two Delta channels that, when closed, they would stop fish from being sucked into huge water export pumps. The second project is a planned peripheral canal that would divert water from the Delta. This summer, engineers are taking soil samples to help decide what route or routes the canal should take.

Marcos Breton We check in with Sacramento Bee columnist Marcos Breton about some of the top stories in the news and sports.

Joey Garcia Insight recently turned five years old and we're celebrating by checking in with some of the most interesting guests who joined us on our earliest shows. Joey Garcia, best known to many people in Sacramento as the author of the advice column "Ask Joey" in the Sacramento News & Review, was one of our earliest guests and we check back in with her.
