John Diamond/ Letter to Obama/ John McCutcheon

John Diamond A former National Security Reporter for USA Today is speaking in Sacramento this week. Today on Insight, reporter and author John Diamond tells you about the internal problems at the CIA and the history of the agency from the end of the cold war to the invasion of Iraq. Diamond's new book is "The CIA and the Culture of Failure: U.S. Intelligence for the End of the Cold War to the Invasion of Iraq."

John Diamond speaks 6 p.m. today at McGeorge School of Law, Courtroom 3200, Fifth Ave., Sacramento.

Letter to Obama  With the inauguration of Barack Obama next week, Capital Public Radio has started airing letters to the president-elect in a partnership with the Sacramento News and Review. The first letter, written by a Whitney High School senior in Rocklin, aired this morning. Elena Frink tells you about her letter and about her school's involvement in a charity helping kids and schools in Uganda.
