Pesky pike / Tiny universe / "Consuming Kids"

Pesky pike  Northern pike continue to be a nuisance at Lake Davis; experts tell you about plans to poison the water again.

Tiny universe  New scientific theories could change our understanding of the universe. Stanford physics professor Leonard Susskind, sometimes called "the Father of String Theory," talks about how the universe itself could be part of a much larger landscape. His new book is "The Cosmic Landscape: String Theory and the Illusion of Intelligent Design".

Professor Susskind delivers a public lecture at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17, 2006, at the ARC Ballroom at UC Davis.  Information: click here.

"Consuming Kids"  Children are now the focus of many advertisements from cereal to cigarettes. Psychologist and author Susan Linn tells you why this commercialization of childhood is a problem and what can be done about it.  It's the topic of her latest book "Consuming Kids".
