La Sera

Katy Goodman's band La Sera put out one of 2012's more underappreciated pop albums. It's called Sees the Light and it's full of lush instrumentation, thoughtful lyrics and accomplishes a difficult feat for a pop album: It doesn't sound same-y. It remains engaging start to finish. There's a terrific variety of sonic styles and it's one I highly recommend.

La Sera performed last night at Midtown Village Café to a cozy crowd wrapped around the front of the venue.
