Jeffrey Callison was born in Scotland. He majored in English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh, and studied improvisational theater at L'Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Jeffrey moved to California in 1989 and started his radio journalism career at NPR-affiliate KUSP-FM in Santa Cruz. He joined Capital Public Radio in 1996 as a classical announcer, but soon returned to radio news as a reporter and local All Things Considered host. He became KXJZ's news director in 2000, and was named Insight's first host in 2004.
