In the final installment of the series “Back Home,” KXJZ News Director Joe Barr introduces us to three local veterans from three different generations for a roundtable discussion of life during and after war.
While veterans of past wars have returned home and focused on putting their lives back together—some go a step beyond and become activists. The two Iraq war veterans you’re about to meet have done just that.
It’s the most heartbreaking news the parents or spouse of a soldier may ever hear: Their loved one has died in the line of duty. It’s also an emotional experience for the serviceman or woman who has the responsibility of delivering the message.
A little more than 24,000 US troops have been wounded in combat since the Iraq War started four years ago. One of them is Roseville resident David Frame.
Military veterans, many of whom served in Iraq, are coming to California college campuses in increasing numbers. Education officials are now realizing they must reach out.
