According to one recent study, nearly a quarter of all public school students in California are classified as obese or severely obese. It's a number that doesn't bode well for the future as these unhealthy children become unhealthy adults. How did California's kids get so big? And what can be done to help them and their parents win the battle of the bulge? The next Second Opinions forum will examine the childhood obesity issue and offer realistic solutions for families who want to fight back against the fat. Join us at 6:00pm on Thursday, September 30th for "Childhood Obesity: Moving Our Kids From Fat to Fit."

2nd Opinions is a multimedia collaboration between the Sacramento Bee and Capital Public Radio. Major funding for this project comes from the AT&T Foundation.
