The National Hockey League is expanding to Las Vegas. It’s the first time the city will be home to a big league sports team because of long-held fears that any franchise operating in the gambling mecca would be vulnerable to betting. Team owner Bill Foley says the yet-to-be-named team will cater to local residents and has already sold 14,000 season tickets ahead of next season’s debut.
