The film “The Man Who Knew Infinity” opens today. Dev Patel plays real-life mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. In the early twentieth century, Ramanujan’s revolutionary ideas were initially ignored, but he found a champion in English mathematician G.H. Hardy, who arranged for Ramanujan to study at Cambridge. In the movie, Hardy is played by actor Jeremy Irons. Irons and Patel talk to Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson about the experience of working together on the film.
