PETER SAGAL, HOST:
So right now, panel, it's time for you to answer some questions about this week's news. Amy, Carly Fiorina remains among the front-runners for the GOP nomination. Although she's never served in the military or held any office, she says she is equipped to fight ISIS because she does have what?
AMY DICKINSON: Oh, my God.
SAGAL: It's something that she achieved, something that she did early in her life that prepares her to fight ISIS.
DICKINSON: Oh, was this a Girl Scout badge for ISIS-fighting?
SAGAL: No.
(LAUGHTER)
SAGAL: Although, we should send the Girl Scouts. They are doggish, in my experience.
DICKINSON: We should.
SAGAL: They do not stop.
O'ROURKE: ISIS would be so fat.
SAGAL: I know.
DICKINSON: OK.
SAGAL: I'll give you a hint. Her honors thesis was about jousting and the plague.
DICKINSON: So she's a medievalist?
SAGAL: Yes.
(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)
SAGAL: She says she is prepared...
O'ROURKE: So she could get a job at that restaurant where they have...
SAGAL: Medieval Times.
O'ROURKE: ...Turkey legs.
SAGAL: Carly Fiorina said, in a town hall - she was in New Hampshire, I think - and somebody said, well, you know, what will you do about ISIS? And she said, well, I am prepared to fight ISIS because I have a degree in medieval history.
DICKINSON: Wow.
SAGAL: That's what she said.
DICKINSON: It finally came in handy.
SAGAL: Yeah, no, she said - she said...
DICKINSON: You know what? I think she should go with the Girl Scout thing, I'm just saying.
SAGAL: No, she said that it will help her because ISIS is medieval in their barbarities. Like, she was into decapitating your enemies before it was cool, OK?
O'ROURKE: Forty-three percent.
>>SAGAL Of what?
O'ROURKE: Is what they - 43 percent is how much the HP stock fell while she was CEO of Hewlett-Packard.
SAGAL: That is because, with her medieval background, she moved HP away from personal computers and into abacuses.
O'ROURKE: Yes.
PAULA POUNDSTONE: You know what? You know what we could do is we could send her over to head ISIS and she would bring them down 43 percent.
DICKINSON: Oh, my God.
(APPLAUSE)
SAGAL: Good work. Coming up, our panelists take you on a vacation in our Bluff the Listener game. Call 1-888-WAIT-WAIT to play. We'll be back in a minute with more WAIT WAIT ...DON'T TELL ME from NPR.
