Ellen Pao, the embattled CEO of the online social sharing site Reddit, has apologized in an online post, saying “we screwed up,” after several issues emerged.
Pao angered many volunteer moderators by firing the site’s popular talent director, Victoria Taylor, last week. She’s also taking heat for her new anti-harassment policy that some users said amounts to censorship. A change.org petition for her ouster has received more than 200,000 in the past month.
What’s next for Reddit and Ellen Pao? Kara Swisher, co-executive editor of the tech news site Re/code discusses this with Here & Now’s Peter O’Dowd.
