Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared disaster areas in 37 counties, after flash flooding forced evacuations and left thousands of residents without electricity. At least 12 people are missing and five people have been killed in Texas and Oklahoma.
Houston resident Jay Bostick tells Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson that the rains have flooded downtown Houston, but right now he’s more fearful of lightning that has been linked to house fires last night.
