R.I.P Brian Griffin (Family Guy/Facebook)
On Family Guy this weekend, the Fox network cartoon killed off one of the main characters — the talking dog Brian Griffin.
Brian was run over by a car and died of his injuries after 15 years on the show. The show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, was also the voice of Brian.
The family did get a new dog named Vinny, in the episode on Sunday night. Vinny is voiced by Tony Sirico of The Sopranos.
But many Family Guy fans are not satisfied. Thousands of people have signed a petition to bring back Brian and are using the Twitter hashtag #BringBrianBack.
The show’s executive producer told E that he’s confident fans will eventually warm to Vinny.
