It's MORNING EDITION, from NPR News. Good morning. I'm David Greene.
STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:
And I'm Steve Inskeep. The upside of the approaching storm in the Northeast is that many people have a long weekend. Schools and businesses are adjusting to forecasts of major snowfall. New York City, we're told, could get at least a foot of snow. Two feet are expected in Boston, where the list of school closings is already quite long, and where P.J. Mensel has been getting ready.
P.J. MENSEL: We have a fresh roast turkey. We have six shovels. We have 50 pounds of salt and sand, and all our electrical things are charged, and we have a hand generator.
INSKEEP: And so now he just needs to stay home. Massachusetts' governor is urging people to get off the roads before noon today. And we will follow the conditions throughout this morning. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
