Thousands of Californians are spending this Memorial Day (weekend) at state parks. The holiday kicks off the picnicking and camping season, but state officials say visitors may notice the impact of budget cuts this summer.
Officials with California’s branch of the Veterans of Foreign Wars say they currently have nearly 94,000 members. That’s a 22% drop from about 10 years ago.
