Farid Senzai Farid Senzai is a leading expert
on Muslim/Middle East-U.S. relations, whose family dramatically
escaped from Afghanistan when Farid was a child. His wife Naheed

award-winning novel loosely based on Farid's experience. Farid is a
guest at the upcoming "Evening with the STARS" gala, held by the San
Juan Education Foundation. He and Naheed are here with us today to
talk about their experiences in the Middle East.
Biennial Bay-Delta
Science Conference In mid-October more than a thousand
scientists, managers, and policymakers will descend onto Sacramento
to discuss ways of ensuring the health of the Delta - a region that
often tops Governor Brown's list of issues because of its
importance to California's water supply. The 7th Biennial Bay-Delta
Science Conference runs from October 16 through 18 and, as the
name implies, it only happens once every two years, so it's a
big event. It's open to the public and Dr. Peter Moyle joins us to
explain what will be happening. More information can be found at
this website: http://scienceconf.deltacouncil.ca.gov/

to ever come my way" by music critic Harris Goldsmith. See a video
