California Health Bills A number of
California state legislators are trying to push their health bills through both houses before the
end of August so they can go to the governor for approval.
We'll take a look at these bills with Capital Public Radio's
Healthcare Reporter Pauline Bartolone, who has been following the
situation closely.
The Soldiers Project The
Soldiers Project is a nonprofit, independent group of volunteer
licensed mental health professionals that provides free counseling
and support to military service members who have served or expect
to serve in the Iraq and/or Afghanistan conflicts and to veterans
of those conflicts. Their services are also available to military
figures' families and loved ones.
Kushman by the Bottle In our August
installment of Kushman by the Bottle, Capital Public
Radio's resident wine expert (and occasional guest host) Rick Kushman, in honor of the 2012 London
Olympics, talks about the role Great Britain plays in the wine
world.
Ottmar Liebert Grammy-nominated nouveau
flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert returns to the Sacramento area
with a new CD. "Dune" is an album that contrasts traditional
and electric instruments. It adds accordion, Memphis bass
lines, trumpets and a drum machine - in addition to lots of
percussion. The sounds are rhythmic and sometimes funky, but
always spectacularly performed. Ottmar Liebert is playing at Harlow's Wednesday,
August 8.
