Play or Get Off the Court It's time to
play or get off the court when it comes to making an arena a
reality in Downtown Sacramento. Some critics want a public
vote on the arena if public money is going to be used to build
it. Sacramento and the owners of the Kings have
different ideas about funding the construction of the new
arena. And the
National Basketball Association is meeting April 12 and 13 to
decide how it will be involved in the pre-planning funding for the
arena if the city and the Maloofs can't agree on who should pay for
the pre-construction costs.

Since the video was posted on YouTube in early March, it's been viewed nearly 90-million times on YouTube alone, and at least another 60-million on secondary sites; Part 2 was released, somewhat in response to the intense backlash to the original. Joseph Kony, has not yet been found but people all over the world now know who he is.

Crack and Rap Music Many of the
characteristics of modern rap-violent language and the
glorification of guns and drugs are the product of America's war on
crack during the late 1980's and early 1990's. Dimitri Bogazianos is an assistant professor in
the Division of Criminal Justice at Sacramento State
University. His new book "5 Grams: Crack Cocaine, Rap Music, and the War on
Drugs" explores the way the crack era and America's war on
drugs created the rap music we know today.
2 or 3 Guys Sacramento indie pop group 2 or 3 Guys is releasing their first studio
album Friday April 13. They are also playing a show at Old Ironsides that same night to coincide with
the release of the album.
