Burning Man Ticket Upset The popularity of
the event may be its own undoing. Burning Man
organizers' decision to fairly dole out access to
the popular event by creating a ticket
lottery has created a new black market for
ticket sales and enraged longtime "Burners"
who are being left out in the cold.
Pat O'Connor Author Pat O'Connor, who wrote "Scapegoat: The Chino
Hills Murder and the Framing of Kevin Cooper," will be at the
Sacramento
Valley Branch of the Women's International League for
Peace and Freedom Feb 9. He wrote the book after he came to
believe that Kevin Cooper was wrongfully convicted for the murders.
In Memoriam Michael Goodwin Conductor and
music director of the Auburn Symphony, Michael Goodwin, died in a car accident
Tuesday afternoon. Many credit Goodwin as the driving force
behind the symphony's success.
Tommy Emmanuel Australian guitarist and
two-time Grammy nominee Tommy Emmanuel is performing at the Crest Theatre Sunday night. Tommy's
unique style - he calls it simply "finger style" - is akin to
playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten
fingers.
