Sacramento County's New Health Officer El
Dorado's health officer is the lead contender to become
Sacramento's new health officer. If the Sacramento County
Board of Supervisors approves Kasirye on February 7 she'll begin
work February 8. We'll talk with Dr. Olivia Kasirye about her
past accomplishments, her plans for improving Sacramento's health
system, and why she's interested in major role in a department that
has recently had its budget slashed.
Curbing Stigma of Mental Illness
Sacramento County is launching an anti-stigma campaign designed to
reduce the stigma and discrimination that accompany mental health
problems. We'll speak with interim program director, Jane Ann
LeBlanc, and a person suffering mental illness who will benefit
from the free county health services.
"Doubt: A Parable" "Doubt: A Parable" is a
Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play about a strict
headmistress who comes to suspect a new priest of sexually abusing
a student. The play is being performed at Resurrection
Theatre for the next few weeks.
