Deforestation The impact of deforestation on global warming varies with latitude, according to new research from a team of scientists representing twenty institutions from around the world. The study was recently published in the journal "Nature." The surprising finding, the researchers say, calls for new climate-monitoring strategies. We'll hear from Kyaw Tha Paw U, Professor of Atmospheric Science and Biometereology at UC Davis, and one of the co-authors of the paper.

"Umbreakable" After a failed attempt, documentarian JB Brenna learned the only way to effectively film the Western States ultra-marathon would be to run legs of the race himself, keeping pace with the leaders. The world premiere of the resulting film, "Unbreakable," is in San Francisco on Friday. It will take place at the SportsBasement in the Marina. Expected to attend are about 400 people and selling out is anticipated. The stars (runners) will be in attendance.
